Update to Google Contacts makes sure that you'll remember your birthday

The Google contacts app on your phone is not exactly the most exciting app. If that is the case you need to rethink your smartphone use. The app lists all of your contacts and their phone numbers its important to have especially on a phone even though it dose not have only mind blowing features.

Google has been working on the abilities of its contacts application adding gadgets for direct dialing informing and reaching out to anybody on the rundown. In January Google added a new tab called Highlights to the top half of the screen that displays the contacts you looked up the most. The contacts you have looked up most recently and those you just added can be seen on the displays bottom half.

   

An update to Google Contacts adds a tab that can help remind you of birthdays and other significant dates

According to 9to5Google Google contacts version 4.2 now has a For You tab at the bottom of the screen between the Favorites and Recents tabs. Users will see a profile for the contact with the picture name birth date and a countdown to their next birthday. A shortcut to call or text the contact is also included. Rhen you open your chats from a particular party and press on their name at the top of the screen this profile card is identical to the one that appears in the Google messages app.

The For you tab on Google Contacts will alert you when it is a contact's birthday.

Top the editing pencil in the upper right corner of the display to see a birth date anniversary date or any date at all. That will open a number of fields where you can edit or add data. There are two fields at the bottom that say significant date each of which has a label field underneath it. The man Mark field expresses Birthday of course. In the first significant date field enter the contacts birth date.

  

Better make sure you have your significant other's birthday entered on your phone

If there is no anniversary date for that contact tap the label field at the bottom of the screen for the second significant date. There will be choices for custom other Anniversary (which is the default) and no label. Additionally tapping the more fields link at the very bottom of the screen will allow you to add additional fields.

On an Android phone you can open the Google contacts app by tapping the phone icon and then pressing the contacts tab at the bottom of the screen. If you need to install the app of your Android phone for some reason.

If you have the most recent version of the Google contacts app you will be able to tap on the For You tab to determine the birth date of anyone in your contacts list whose information has already been entered. A hint for you ensure that you have entered the significant dates of your significant other in to your phone. if not they may have to pay the ultimate price. Yes do not forget to include the date of your anniversary.

Google has a strong tendency to make its apps as useful as possible. Google Maps for example is one of the most well known applications and the search engine giant has continuously improved its functionality. This is one thing Google does for the majority of its apps because the company simply wont stop working to add little things to make apps better for users.
